CCM-#155

So to our first theme of the year. As it's a brand new year we thought we would go with a 'new' challenge. So you can interpret that in many different ways, it could be to welcome a new baby, a new home, marriage etc. I am sure you can think of many different 'news' you can inspire us with. This challenge is being hosted by Sally so it will be her job to choose our winner and Top 5.

I chose to make this wedding card for this month using a Julie Nutting Doll. I used clear embossing powder on a textured background stamped onto her dress and then TH Distress inks for the color. The background is layers of stenciling, stamping and distress inks.

Timeless Key...

Happy New Year 2016!!
January 2016 already! I am excited to present my first project as a Design Team member for Rhedd's Creative Spirit Challenge Blog. I have been a fan and been inspired by the lovely work there and am flattered to be chosen to inspire others!
Please Join me and the rest of the team for this years first Challenge!

This started as a basic canvas that I covered with gesso and then using texture paste and a palette knife I stenciled the pattern seen above.

Using mod podge I adhered strips of some pretty papers randomly. Using Tim Holtz Distress stain in blues and browns created the coloration. I started with the wooden molded piece at the top and then decided to remove it.
I added this large key embellishment topped with a molded plastic angel which was actually an earring. I placed some balsa wood shapes of leaves and flowers down and then sprayed several colors of Dylusions sprays and water to create the colors.
I also used Rock candy crackle in areas for this affect.

Using many layers of sprays, stains and spritzers creates a great amount of texture.
I hope you enjoy this tutorial and it inspires your creativity!
