Compendium of Curiosities 3 Challenge #29 --Eroded Metallic--Vintage Trinket Box

Compendium of Curiosities 3 Challenge #29 --Eroded Metallic
This is a technique-based challenge, and it’s a good one: Eroded Metallic. You’ll love this look. It works with everything from steampunk to shabby-chic to romantic floral themes, and it’s easy and lots of fun. Check out Tim’s tutorial on page 44 of  A Compendium of Curiosities, Vol.3 for the lowdown.

This is what the outcome of the Tim technique was above...I love it! Hard to believe this was just a cardboard box!
In addition to the Tim technique from the book, I added some texture paste for an even more eroded look..Also did his technique on the mason jar just to see if it worked on glass!
I used some paper flowers, grunge paper die cuts, a TH frame and a TH coin with the word "altered"
I am also a jewelry maker and have collected many pieces of vintage broken and mismatched items which I put to use to create a wonderfully vintage look!
A closer view of my erosion....

Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2015 May

My finished tag! I really enjoyed this challenge. I chose to use one of my favorite old pictures of my grandparents. My grandmother sadly passed away when I was 15 years old and was my idol. She still is today. Her and my grandfather loved adventure and travel and this months tag gave me the opportunity to turn that into art.

I used pretty much everything Tim used in his tutorial this month for this tag. I created the small pocket from the corner of a library pocket then distressed it with tea dye distress ink over a stamp that I used with a clear embossing.
